About Our Wellness Policy
At New Vision Learning Academy, we are dedicated to fostering a nurturing environment that prioritizes the health, well-being, and academic success of our students. Our wellness policy focuses on healthy eating, physical activity, and nutrition education, aligned with both federal and state standards to promote lifelong wellness.

Wellness Policy Goals
1. Nutrition Standards
New Vision Learning Academy ensures that meals served in our cafeterias meet USDA and Louisiana Department of Education nutrition standards. We emphasize variety, safety, and cultural inclusivity in meal planning.

Nutritious Food Options: We provide fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and dairy products to meet daily nutritional needs.

Healthy Vending: Vending machines and snack options are limited to healthy choices to encourage balanced diets.

Food Safety: All food service operations are overseen by qualified nutrition professionals to maintain the highest standards of safety and quality.
2. Physical Education & Activity
Physical activity is essential to academic performance and overall wellness. Our physical education curriculum is structured to support fitness, cooperation, and skill-building in a safe and enjoyable environment.

Daily Activity: Students in grades K-6 engage in a minimum of 30 minutes of physical activity each day.
